Job Summary
We are seeking a Vocal Teacher to join our team! As the Vocal Teacher, you will allow students to pick the genre of music that they enjoy, while picking music that is best suited to them. You will also supervise all rehearsals within the confines of Academy hours, maintain all musical equipment, and attend staff meetings. The ideal candidate will have experience working with and teaching students, excellent leadership skills, and a knack for developing young talent.

Responsibilities

• Choose activities, lessons, and musical performances based on the skillset and available students
• Hold auditions for each activity or musical, and assign parts as necessary
• Schedule and supervise rehearsals within the appropriate Academy hours
• Properly assess the skills of each student under your care, and work with each student to develop their individual skills
• Stay up to date with trends in both teaching and the music industry
• Attend staff meetings
• Maintain musical equipment

Qualifications

• Previous experience teaching music preferred
• Prefer ability to play piano, guitar or other chordal instrument (but not necessary)
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Strong organizational skills
• Excellent leadership and time management skills
• The ability to make decisions under pressure
