DESCRIPTION
The District Manager is primarily responsible for the management and development of a retail execution team performing promotional events within an assigned territory. The Manager will delegate coaching opportunities, assign training programs and function as a subject matter expert to multiple retail execution teams. These special projects and demonstrations are typically performed at the retail/wholesale level in convenient stores, supermarkets, department stores, discount clubs, and hypermarkets on a wide range of Consumer-Packaged Goods (CPG’s).
The Manager will lead a team that will showcase the benefits, value, and usefulness of certain products, make them desirable to potential customers/consumers and influence sales at the store level. Depending on the Client Team, this role may promote sales Business to Business (B2B) or Business to Customer/Consumer (B2C).
A successful candidate for this role will be able demonstrate to others the mastery use of positive persuasion to generate interest and engaging others using product samples and manufacture coupons and incentives. This is a non-commissionable role.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Job Duties:

Designate Manager coverage for special projects/events and ensure excellent execution is carried out at the retail/wholesale level. Maintain continual improvement of sales coverage and productivity of the Retail/Wholesale Organization.

Monitor and ensure Company policy is adhered to by the Retail/Wholesale Organization

Collaborate with supervisors and principals on all major initiatives (new product introductions, contests, etc.). Create and maintain relationships with retail/wholesale managers and employees

Serve as the point of contact for special projects in the field; create special projects. Expert resource to Customer and Business Managers on the effectiveness of both full-time and part-time sales personnel

Conduct on-going recruiting for new Associates

Maintain incident files for all Associates in accordance with Company policy

Ensure coverage and execution of events within assigned territory

Work with managers and customers to achieve in results

Utilize and fully understand Acosta reports and reporting systems

Effectively and accurately use technology to communicate priorities and coverage analyses to maintain an effective feedback and measurement system

Other miscellaneous duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Education Requirements:
-
Bachelor’s Degree Preferred or Work Experience equivalent to a 4 Year Degree Program from an accredited College or University

5-7 years’ experience in customer service, sales, communication, teaching, and retailing. In-Store Brand Ambassadors may need to have cooking and food handling experience.

Must have a minimum of 3+ years managerial experience. Prior training experience preferred.

Prior experience in a position with direct customer contact is extremely desirable.

Able to lift up to 60 pounds.

Valid driver’s license and must be able to drive a car for extended period of time.

Available for overnight travel.

Must be available for weekend work (Demos, Food Shows, or Special Client Programs). Must be able to work nights and holidays.

Willing and able to work in extremely cold conditions ( refrigerated and freezer sections of retail stores).

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Recognize and understand issues and develop a process to solve the problem at hand.

Speak and hear, walk, stoop, kneel, reach, pull, grasp and stand on a daily basis. Must have good vision, dexterous use of both hands and be able to operate hand truck, pallet jack, hammer, screwdriver, drill and case cutter.

Stand and/or walk for long periods of time.

Advanced computer skills including Word and Excel and other workplace communication tools
