Work Schedule : 10 Hr (7 : 00AM - 5 : 00PM)

Pay Range : $27.47 - $38.81 per hour

Summary :

This position is responsible for performing all laboratory testing required in the provision of slides for pathological diagnosis. This position requires teamwork to achieve common goals and meet deadlines to provide quality care to clients and patients. Demonstrate proficiency in identifying and resolving process issues that affect the laboratory’s ability to perform laboratory testing. Serve as an expert within the assigned field of responsibility. Instruct students, residents, and new employees. Evaluate their performance within established deadlines.

Required Job Qualifications :

• Associate of Science Degree in a relevant science OR High School / GED diploma with a minimum of two years of microtomy or histological technique work experience
• HT(ASCP) or HTL(ASCP) or eligible
• Minimally cut 30-35 blocks per hour daily. Meets turnaround time expectations for specimen processing 90% of the time.

ASCP QUALIFICATION FOR TESTING :

Employees in this job classification are qualified to perform moderate complexity testing. Employees' education and / or laboratory experience meet the requirements delineated in the Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendment of 1996.
