Dental Hygienist

Minimum requirements :

• Must have a clear and current Florida Dental Hygiene license Must have a current / active CPR certificate Bi-lingual English / Spanish Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities : .Knowledge of dental terminology.
• Knowledge of dental hygiene principles and practices.
• Skills in using dental instruments and equipment and performing dental prophylaxis and scaling and root planning.
• Ability to instruct patients in preventive dental techniques.
• Ability to communicate effectively.
• Ability to manage time so can adequately treat patients but still treat the number of patients needed and in a timely manner.
• Ability to work with dentists, assistants, student assistants and volunteers in a way that promotes teamwork and the betterment of the residents of Marion County.

Duties and Responsibilities  - :

Serve as a dental hygienist in the School Based Sealant program.

Provide dental assessments, take pictures of inside of students mouth for tele-dentistry, educate students on oral hygiene provide fluoride varnish treatments and dental sealants.
