[job_card.job_description]Works to prevent assess diagnose and treat speech language social communication cognitive communication and swallowing disorders in children and adults Review files and physician notes to work prior authorizations on services requested Reviews submitted information on techniques and exercises to diminish and improve linguistic challenges Reviews submitted information on counseling and consultations for new patients Reviews submitted information on engaging exercises and activities to use during speech sessions with patients Evaluates patient and recommends treatment Reviews individualized treatment plan that addresses specific functional needs Reviews goals and objectives for patients to work toward and identify areas of progress and challenges Attends continuing education courses and works to advance personal knowledge and experience within the field Provides training to Residents Students and other staff Responsible for keeping accurate records and documenting billing information Reviews initial evaluations and diagnoses tracks treatment progress and notes any changes in an individuals condition or treatment plan Collaborates with Physicians Surgeons Social Workers Psychologists Occupational Therapists Physical Therapists and other healthcare workers Review files and physician notes to work prior authorizations on services requested. Performs various duties as needed to successfully fulfill the functions of the position Knowledge of Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) regulations and other patient privacy laws Proficient working with computer software used for documentation and report preparation Attention to detail when handling and documenting important medical information Ability to be professional and patient when explaining procedures and processes to providers patients family or care givers Ability to communicate verbally and in writing Licensed in Speech Language Pathology by the Oklahoma State Board of Examiners. Physical : Sitting for long periods of time. Speaking and listening. Environmental : Office Environment.
