Pinto Valley is an open-pit copper mine located at the west end of the historic Globe-Miami mining district of central Arizona, approximately 80 miles east of Phoenix. Pinto Valley has been in operation since 1972 and has produced more than four billion pounds of copper. Acquired by Capstone from BHP in 2013, the mine is fully permitted through 2039 and a study is underway to potentially extend the mine life through 2050.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
The Supervisor – Light Vehicle Maintenance is responsible for leading safe, efficient, and compliant maintenance operations for light vehicle assets in support of mine production and business objectives. This role provides frontline leadership to maintenance personnel, ensures effective execution of maintenance plans, and drives reliability, cost control, and continuous improvement while upholding Capstone Copper’s values, safety standards, and operational governance.
Safety, Compliance & Governance : Lead all light vehicle maintenance activities in full compliance with Capstone Copper values, MSHA regulations, Pinto Valley Mine policies, and applicable local, state, and federal standards. Ensure employees and contractors are properly trained, certified, and working to approved safe work practices, SOPs, and the Collective Bargaining Agreement. Actively promote a strong safety culture through field presence, use of safety tools, and adherence to the SFM Supervisor Behavior Model.Maintenance Execution & Planning : Ensure the effective execution of preventive, corrective, and emergency maintenance activities for light vehicle assets. Participate in short- and long-term maintenance planning, down-day planning and reviews, and post-mortem evaluations to improve equipment availability, reliability, and cost performance.Resource & Cost Management : Allocate manpower, tools, and equipment to meet planned maintenance activities while achieving production cost targets. Maintain awareness of departmental budgets and provide input to the Mobile Maintenance Superintendent on budget development as required.Inventory, Vendors & Materials : Monitor and control spare parts inventory, critical spares, and purchasing activities. Engage and supervise vendors and contractors as required to support maintenance execution and service quality.Work Management & Systems : Ensure accurate work order planning, execution, completion, and approval using SAP. Participate in the development and review of work orders, bills of material, and maintenance documentation to support standardized and efficient work practices.Performance Monitoring & Reporting : Produce daily, weekly, and monthly maintenance reports tracking progress against business objectives, production targets, and maintenance KPIs. Identify risks, gaps, and improvement opportunities and implement corrective actions in collaboration with stakeholders.Continuous Improvement & Best Practices : Implement maintenance programs, processes, and policies aligned with organizational governance standards. Identify and execute improvement initiatives to optimize maintenance systems, practices, equipment utilization, and overall departmental performance.Collaboration & Operational Support : Work closely with operations and other departments to ensure facilities maintenance supports mine plan execution and processing throughput. Provide technical expertise and guidance to internal and external stakeholders as required.Additional Duties : Perform other tasks and responsibilities as assigned to support safe, reliable, and cost-effective light vehicle maintenance operations.Take on additional tasks and responsibilities as assigned, demonstrating flexibility and initiative.POSITION REQUIREMENTS
Required
Minimum of 3 years of experience in light vehicle maintenance, mobile maintenance, or a related industrial maintenance environment.Demonstrated experience supervising or leading maintenance personnel in a safety-critical operation.Working knowledge of MSHA regulations and mine site safety requirements.Ability to manage maintenance activities in compliance with company policies, procedures, and collective bargaining agreements.Experience with preventive, corrective, and emergency maintenance execution.Familiarity with work management systems; experience using SAP for work orders, reporting, and data entry.Proficient with Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, Outlook).Strong leadership, communication, and team development skills.Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, operational environment.Preferred
3–5 years of progressive experience in a supervisory role within mobile or light vehicle maintenance.Previous experience in a mining or heavy industrial environment.Experience managing contractors and vendor services.Knowledge of spare parts inventory management and maintenance cost control practices.All candidates will be required to complete a pre-employment medical exam, drug and alcohol test, and background check. All positions require a pre-placement physical examination to ensure candidates are 'fit for duty’. Additional training and / or testing may be required. Capstone maintains a drug and alcohol-free workplace.
