Job Description

The Registered Nurse (RN) maintains the delivery of quality care by ensuring the nursing care plan is followed. The RN supervises Licensed Practical Nurses, Certified Nursing Assistants, and orientees while prioritizing patient and employee safety.

Responsibilities

• Perform nursing assessments on patients within 8 hours of admission to establish an individualized care plan.
• Identify teaching needs and collaborate with patients/families and interdisciplinary teams.
• Document all assessments, interventions, and patient responses accurately and timely.
• Participate in patient rehabilitation programs and provide direct patient care using the nursing process.
• Initiate discharge planning upon admission and commence patient teaching for discharge.
• Communicate any changes in patient status promptly to ensure continuity of care.
• Supervise and train ancillary nursing personnel, delegating tasks appropriately.
• Ensure personal and environmental safety according to hospital policies.
• Maintain effective communication with management regarding service needs and supply management.
• Foster a positive work environment through team-building activities.
• Engage in professional development opportunities to further nursing skills and knowledge.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• BLS certification required prior to first shift.
• ACLS certification required prior to first shift.
• Minimum of two years of bedside critical care clinical experience is required.
