JOB SUMMARY :

Development Coordinator positions is responsible for assisting with the overall execution of fundraising events of Boys & Girls Clubs of Lanier, which includes the coordination and implementation of annual campaign, employee campaign, and community outreach. Focus on engaging, cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding donors as well as developing new prospects. Provides administrative support to department.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS AND DUTIES :

Resource Development

  • Work with the Director of Development to implement resource development strategies. Implements fundraising plan for county advisory committees to ensure consistency with overall resource development plan for the organization.
  • Work with Development team and board to solicit corporations, individuals and civic groups for donations and other support. May be assigned to work with Advisory committee from different counties in GA.
  • Manages a portfolio of donors with the goals of soliciting new donors from corporations, individuals and civic groups in counties assigned by the Director of Development.
  • Key partner with the Development team with implementing all aspects of donor cultivation and stewardship. Keeps track of visits, solicitations, cold calls etc.
  • Implements, and manages annual campaigns for unrestricted gifts from individuals, with concentration on entry and mid-level donors.
  • Meets fundraising goals outlined in Resource Development Plan
  • Design and manage comprehensive direct mail, monthly giving, and on-line giving strategies including the analysis of program results to refine and increase revenue results quarterly.
  • Identifies, solicits, and secures gifts through various business development techniques, including cold calling, following up on warm leads and consistently researches ways to create partnerships with local businesses; prepares related printed materials and publications.
  • Responsible for meeting Annual Resource Development goals outlined in Overall organizational Resource Development Plan and goals created by the Director of Development.
  • Collaborates with Director of Development to coordinate publicity, annual campaign materials including public relations, advertising, and collateral material as outlined in overall Resource Development plan and for county specific marketing.
  • Spend some time in clubs to gain a perspective on what we do and our mission.
  • Oversees and implements all annual campaign letters asking for support, invitations, and attendance lists.
  • Develops and supervises donor recognition and stewardship strategies and events. Coordinate stewardship activities for all donors and manage a donor portfolio.
  • Represents staff at various committee meetings, assists in mailings, writes follow up letter and enters necessary data into donor database regarding Club donors.
  • Research relevant statistics, data, and sector information as needed.
  • Create reports, spreadsheets and proposals as required to track donor visits and presentations. Prepare background reports on donor giving and interests
  • Manage administrative and operational systems to track fundraising income, compile income status reports as required by development team. Recognize contributions with acknowledgment letters.
  • Attends community events in our communities i.e., business breakfast events, business after hour's events, United Way events, and other events assigned.
  • Perform other related duties and responsibilities as required or as assigned.

EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS :

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited University / College preferred. 3 to 5 years of fundraising experience with a nonprofit organization preferred.
  • 1 to 3 years of sales experience a plus.
  • Advanced knowledge of software programs such as Microsoft word, Excel, Power Point, and Microsoft Office. Knowledge of donor database a plus, and the willingness to learn and manage My Club Hub donor database.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Must be a team player, a self-starter, and possess ability to juggle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Must be able to travel between sites for donor meetings and events; some evening and weekends required.
  • ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Submit requests for purchases of supplies and equipment to supervisor.
  • Knowledge of accessing, pulling reports and managing donor database.
  • Assume all other duties as assigned.
