Summer Camp jobs with the Ann Arbor Y offer invaluable skill-building leadership training and enrichment opportunities in a fun high energy environment. Camp staff assist and lead groups of campers in various camp programs and activities each day. Camp staff are responsible for the general safety development growth and skill achievement of the participants in their group. Camp Staff will provide high quality educational and recreational experiences for participants that focus on the Ys core values of caring honesty respect and responsibility. Requirements

What qualifications do I need to have in order to be a Camp Coordinator

• High school diploma or equivalent is required. Minimum of 2 years of college completed in a related field is preferred.
• Must have minimum of 2 years experience in working with children.
• Experience hiring training & supervising staff is preferred.
• The incumbent must demonstrate creativity enthusiasm and dedication.
• Incumbent must have experience working with youth in a group setting and creating and implementing lesson plans.
• Additionally s / he should possess the skills necessary to provide safe appropriate and fun activities.
• Must be CPR and First Aid certified prior to employment.
• Ability to communicate and listen effectively as well as a willingness to learn.
• Must be able to learn and use YMCA specific software within 30 days of employment. Must be capable of using basic Microsoft Office software.
• Understanding of YMCA mission and cause is required. An ability to demonstrate YMCA cause within program setting is an advantage.
