Position

Overview:

We are currently seeking a full-time Medical Laboratory Scientist who will focus on conducting high-complexity urine drug screens and confirmations on LC/MS instruments, as well as infectious disease testing. Potential to move full time.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in chemical, physical, biological, or clinical laboratory science, or medical technology from an accredited institution
• Minimum of 2+ years prior work experience in a laboratory certified under CLIA
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
• Proficiency in Microsoft and Google suites

Responsibilities:

• Utilize technical knowledge of laboratory testing and terminology to ensure accuracy in test results
• Execute the analysis and processing of data, and release patient test results in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures
• Conducts clinical molecular genetic testing for multiple workflows as well as high-complexity urine drug screens and confirmations on LC/MS instruments
• Adhere to and review the laboratory's quality control policies, emphasizing documentation of all quality control and quality assurance activities
• Evaluate test results for accuracy and assist in their interpretation for physicians
• Demonstrates knowledge in laboratory procedures
• Demonstrates knowledge and skill in multitasking and time management
• Communicate effectively and demonstrate attention to detail in cross-referencing information and prioritizing tasks
• Ensure that test result reports contain pertinent information required for patient interpretation
• Maintain compliance with laboratory policies for personal protective equipment (PPE), hazardous waste disposal, and IT security
• Participate in performing test method validation and verification runs for accuracy and precision
• Document all corrective actions taken when test systems deviate from the laboratory's established performance specifications
