Job Description

The Catholic Diocese of Spokane Office of Communications seeks a part-time Managing Editor of Inland Catholic, the diocese's quarterly print magazine. The Managing Editor oversees daily operations from initial concept to publication; works with publisher, Faith Catholic, on creation, design, layout; write stories and takes photos; procure news and story writers; evaluate Catholic sources including Vatican and USCCB; Essential Knowledge and Skills: understand role of print media in evangelizing contemporary Catholics and communicating the Gospel message; familiar with Catholic Church institutions, history and policy positions; Education and Experience: BA in Journalism or Communications or blend of professional experience and education; track record of successful experience in writing and editing for print publications.
