General Laborer Positions

Trinity Industries Parts & Components is hiring General Laborer Positions at our Holden America Chicago, IL location. We are looking for a General Laborer to assist in production and warehouse activities. Assist in the production of Holden chocks and other chock system components. Other aspects of the position include product picking and packaging, inventory control assistance, and general upkeep of the facilities. In addition, work site preparedness, cleanliness, and safety are key factors in performing your duties. We'd like you to have stamina for standing in place for long periods of time and the ability to lift medium loads. You should be able to concentrate on performing your tasks and commit to safety rules. Follows all safety rules and practices. Performs other duties as assigned.

Responsibilities

What You'll Do :

Production

Light assembly work of new product chocks, grating, storage devices

Repair and recondition of used chocks returned from field for servicing to include disassembly, identification of faulty components, and reassembly of the chocks

Inventory

Maintain your work area with proper amount of components to complete daily production

Assisting in counting monthly inventory balances

Warehousing

Follow pick ticket instructions to pull proper items and quantities from inventory for shipment

Package and seal boxes and containers for shipment

Properly identify and label shipments ready to ship

Cleanliness

Clean chocks with water to the level acceptable to ship to customers

Maintain a neat working environment during your work day

Clean your work area at the end of your shift

Assist in regular building cleanups to include dusting, mopping, trash removal, and any other housekeeping activity to help maintain a clean and safe work environment for all.

Qualifications

What You'll Need :

• Ability to meet the physical demands of the job (standing for long periods of time, lifting loads of up to 40 pounds etc.)
• Good hand-eye coordination
• Familiarity with hand tool and light power tools (Hammer, screwdriver, drills, Sawzall)
• Basic math, verbal, and writing skills
• Communication and teamwork skills
• Commitment to safety rules
