Northrop Grumman's Defense Systems is looking for an Embedded Software Engineering Manager Level 2 located in Northridge, CA. This role will be supporting some of our most advanced programs to include ARRGM / ER and the SiAW. This position is 100% onsite and cannot accommodate telecommute work. This Embedded Software Engineering Manager role will be approximately 75% program & technical work and approximately 25% functional management work managing a segment of a program or a function. This role is responsible for the direct supervision & management of embedded software staff, and for providing objective-oriented directions to subordinates utilizing management guidelines & general policies. This position will work a 9 / 80 schedule, with every other Friday off.

Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following :

• Addressing cost, schedule, technical performance, and quality of a work package, subsystem, or related group of work packages on a large system development-type contract or full responsibility for all aspects of program performance on a large delivery order or mid-size technical services-type contract
• Assignments received in objective oriented terms
• Full working knowledge of procedures and practices
• Overseeing projects and tasks assigned to the organizational group
• Interpreting and executing policies and procedures that directly impact team performance, morale, and effectiveness
• Recommending modifications to operating policies
• Ensuring that projects are completed on schedule and within budget
• Functioning as an advisor to team members regarding tasks, projects, and operations
• Frequent contacts with internal personnel and outside customer representatives at various management levels concerning operations or scheduling or specific phases of projects or contracts
• Conducting briefings and participating in technical meetings for internal / external representatives

Primary Level Salary Range : $161,000.00 - $241,700.00 The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
