  • Unit Overview : Join our 24-bed Neurosurgical Unit, where you'll care for patients with complex conditions including :

  • Post-operative craniotomies for bleed evacuation, AVMs, and tumor resections
  • Spine surgeries (cervical, thoracic, lumbar)
  • Stroke patients as part of our Comprehensive Stroke Program
  • At the Aurora Neuroscience Innovation Institute (ANII), you will gain exposure to the latest neurosurgical techniques and patient care innovations.

  • Major Responsibilities :

  • Assess patient needs, develop care plans, and evaluate effectiveness
  • Recognize changes in patient status and adjust care plans proactively
  • Implement strategies to enhance patient safety and risk reduction
  • Coordinate discharge planning with a focus on patient and family involvement
  • Contribute to quality improvement initiatives and personal professional development
  • Licensure and Certification Required :

  • Registered Nurse license issued by the state of practice
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association
  • Education and Experience :

  • Completion of an accredited nursing program
  • Typically requires 1 year of clinical nursing experience
  • Skills and Abilities Required :

  • Ability to provide holistic patient care with a focus on family needs
  • Proficient in electronic medical records and communication tools
  • Strong organization, time management, and problem-solving skills
  • Physical Requirements :

  • Ability to perform tasks requiring lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods
  • Capable of safely transferring patients and using necessary medical equipment
