Oil Strategist

Job Location : 500 West Putnam Avenue, Suite 400, Greenwich, CT 06830 Job ID : 002 Job Type : Full-Time, 40 hours per week Rate of Pay : $200,000 - $300,000 per year Job Duties : Utilize extensive academic and industry experience to design, build, and maintain fundamental research infrastructure for oil markets. Research fundamentals of global oil markets including supply, demand, transportation, refining, trade flow and regional balances. Formulate view of the oil market based on research and define trading strategies in accordance with the view. Build models that automate research process, back test trading strategies, and analyze market conditions. Implement select trading strategies and manage associated risk. Job Requirements : Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Finance, or a related field, and 8 years of experience in the job offered or a related occupation. Position requires subject matter expertise in global oil markets, with background in research and trading; expertise in crude production, transportation, processing, and trading; expertise in creating and operating oil balances, for both domestic and global crude markets; expertise in sourcing and processing unformulated data and estimating oil demand for major oil consumers that lack data availability; expertise in converting research conclusion into trading strategies; extensive quantitative modelling capabilities, must be familiar with mathematical models for commodities markets; extensive programming skills, must have experience in developing research and trading tools in Python; experience in independent research; and experience in trading and risk management in the hedge fund industry.
