About the Donor Program Development Coordinator
The Donor Program Development Coordinator is responsible for maximizing the total number of donors recovered for transplant in Arizona through the implementation of a development and education process at assigned hospitals. This position is responsible for building and sustaining collaborative relationships with hospital medical, nursing, and ancillary departments; in addition to DNA departments. Through data-informed engagement, education, and process improvement, this role works to enhance hospital performance across the donation continuum. This includes supporting policy adherence, participating in multidisciplinary committees, identifying barriers to donation, and implementing targeted strategies to improve outcomes. The role emphasizes proactive relationship management, accountability, and continuous improvement while promoting a shared culture of collaboration and excellence.
Responsibilities are to be carried out in a fashion that reflects DNAs comprehensive full-service approach to donation with attention to priority management based upon donor potential.
This position works Monday through Friday with on?call shifts on occasional nights and weekends.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Hospital Collaboration
Works with assigned hospitals to foster a positive donation environment by implementing systems to measure donor outcomes, resolving donation?related issues, assessing hospital needs, and building networks of donation champions.
Quality Assurance Collaboration & Best Practice Implementation
Partners with the Business Intelligence team to report outcome data, support data?driven decisions, and participate in audits to ensure quality donation processes. Ensures hospitals adopt best practices for organ donation, including clinical triggers, team huddles, policy updates, and real?time support for Donation after Circulatory Death.
Professional Education & Real?Time Customer Service (RTCS)
Provides formal and informal education to healthcare professionals on the importance of donation, using comprehensive programs and engaging medical staff for process understanding. Shares on?call responsibilities to respond to donor referrals promptly, supports organ cases, and communicates issues while adhering to organizational timelines and protocols.
Education, Outreach, & Events
Incorporates best practices consistently across all educational, reporting, and outreach activities. Organizes professional education events and special projects such as Donate Life Month and participates in healthcare conferences and symposiums. Assists community engagement and donor family departments by participating in public education and outreach events.
Resource Stewardship & Administrative Tasks
Demonstrates fiscal responsibility by coordinating with leadership to ensure efficient use of organizational resources. Completes all administrative responsibilities accurately and on time.
Professional Development
Stays current with healthcare literature on donation and pursues ongoing professional growth through education and mentoring.
Requirements
Minimum Education
Bachelors Degree or equivalent job experience
Minimum Experience
2 years in Sales or Education
