Lead high-acuity ICU/CCU operations overnight by supervising bedside nursing teams, coordinating staffing and patient assignments, and ensuring evidence-based critical care for complex cardiac, neuro, trauma, and sepsis patients; oversee rapid response and code events, ventilator and hemodynamic monitoring, medication safety, and infection prevention; collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapy, pharmacy, and ancillary services to optimize care plans, throughput, and bed management; conduct clinical rounding, admissions, transfers, and discharges while championing patient and family communication; ensure accurate EHR documentation, policy and Joint Commission compliance, and adherence to ACLS/BLS standards; mentor, coach, and precept nurses, facilitating just-in-time education and performance feedback; analyze quality metrics, lead unit-based initiatives, and escalate issues to on-call leadership; maintain equipment readiness, manage supplies, and coordinate float resources; complete shift huddles and handoffs, reconcile census, and prepare morning reports to support seamless continuity of care.
