Puppy Luv Pet Services is a reputable pet care company based in Arlington and Alexandria Virginia, and the Washington DC area. We are currently seeking a skilled and passionate Dog Groomer to join our team as a part-time groomer. As a Dog Groomer, you will be responsible for providing professional grooming services to our furry clients, ensuring their comfort, health, and overall well-being.


Responsibilities:

• Perform grooming services such as bathing, brushing, haircuts, nail trimming, and ear cleaning for dogs of various breeds and sizes.
• Assess each dog's coat condition and recommend appropriate grooming techniques and styles based on breed standards and client preferences.
• Safely handle and restrain dogs during grooming procedures, ensuring their comfort and safety at all times.
• Maintain a clean and organized grooming area, including proper sanitation of grooming tools and equipment.
• Communicate effectively with pet owners to understand their grooming requirements and provide personalized services.
• Monitor and report any health issues or abnormalities observed during grooming sessions to the pet owner or supervisor.
• Provide exceptional customer service by addressing client concerns, answering questions, and offering grooming advice and recommendations.
• Stay updated on the latest grooming techniques, trends, and industry standards through continuous learning and professional development.
• Collaborate with other team members to ensure a smooth and efficient workflow within the grooming department.
• Adhere to company policies and procedures, including maintaining accurate records of grooming services provided and client information.

Requirements:

• Proven experience as a Dog Groomer, preferably in a professional grooming salon or pet care facility.
• In-depth knowledge of dog breeds, coat types, and grooming techniques.
• Proficiency in various grooming styles and ability to adapt to client preferences.
• Strong understanding of dog behavior and ability to handle dogs of all sizes and temperaments.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with pet owners and team members.
• Ability to work independently and efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
• Attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high grooming standards.
• Physical stamina and ability to lift and restrain dogs of various sizes.
• Flexibility to work weekends and holidays as needed.
• Certification from a recognized grooming school or association is preferred but not required.

Qualifications:

• High school Diploma or equivalent.
• Licensing or certification a plus but not required.
• Previous experience in animal care or other related fields
• Reliable transportation
• Open to flexible schedule
• Passion to help and treat animals.
• Ability to interact with animals in a calm, non-threatening manner.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
