The PEP Program Coordinator I coordinates the Pushing the Education and Human Development Pipeline (PEP) program for prospective and current transfer students pursuing a degree in education and / or human resource development through the College of Education & Human Development at either Texas A&M or Texas A&M Higher Education Center at McAllen. This position is located on-site in McAllen, Texas.
Salary : Compensation will be commensurate to the selected hire's experience.

- This position is grant funded which is renewed under the provisions of the grantor of the agreement. Therefore, your position is contingent upon continuation of funding of these grants and / or contracts.

Essential Duties / Tasks
Outreach :
Works in collaboration with Undergraduate Recruitment, the Office of Admissions, and other campus partners to coordinate outreach for prospective and current transfer students interested in pursuing a degree in education or human resource development through the College of Education & Human Development at Texas A&M University or the Higher Education Center at McAllen.Engages directly with prospective students and parents throughout the admissions, scholarship, and financial aid application processes; provides follow-up on specific questions and assists with troubleshooting issues.Coordinates with community college faculty, staff, and advisors to support and facilitate the admissions, financial aid, and scholarship application processes.Coordinates CEHD-specific outreach activities, including campus visits, presentations, resource tables, application workshops, and designated area outreach projects.Organizes, implements, and reports on programs and projects, including marketing, accommodations, itineraries, meals, speakers, and recordkeeping.Program Communications :
Proactively shares available academic, professional, and health and wellness resources (e.g., Academic Success Center, Career Center, Student Organizations).Meets with students and refers them to appropriate campus resources and departments.Engages with community college advisors, administrators, and staff to exchange information and strengthen support for students considering or planning to transfer to Texas A&M University or the Higher Education Center at McAllen.Conducts presentations as needed at conferences.Establishes and maintains community contacts within designated markets or regions.Collaborates with MarComm and other departments to develop and update admissions and financial aid consumer information materials, publications, and brochures for prospective students and their families, as well as for college, departmental, and university use.Mentoring / Student Success Support :
In collaboration with CEHD Academic Advisors and Byrne Student Success staff, provides mentoring and support to prospective and current College of Education and Human Development students, and refers prospective students to appropriate campus partners regarding college admission, professional concerns, housing, financial aid, student services, degree programs, major options, and career or educational goals.Responds to inquiries and shares information about available resources, services, and departments with prospective students, current students, and parents.Develops and delivers mentoring, support programs, and student success services for undergraduate students, their families, university faculty and staff, administrators, resource providers, and academic advisors.Refers and connects prospective students with the Financial Aid Office for assistance with awarding and adjusting financial aid packages in alignment with federal, state, and institutional policies and regulations.Student Engagement :
Consistently engages the student population using a variety of outreach methods (e.g., in-person and online) to build meaningful professional relationships and keep students informed of critical and relevant personal, academic, and professional deadlines, updates, information, and events.Engages in meaningful and constructive interactions with students and parents to promote and support overall student success.Assists in the planning and / or delivery of department-related student success sessions, retention events, and academic support campaigns.Professional Development :
Participates in in-class and on-the-job training programs to support ongoing professional development and proficiency in role-related responsibilities.Represents the College of Education and Human Development on campus, on committees, within the community, and / or at the state level as needed.Performs other duties as assigned.Qualifications
Required Education and Experience :
Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.Two years of related experience.Preferred Qualifications :
Knowledge of Microsoft Office products.Ability to speak Spanish and English (Bilingual).Ability to develop and make presentations.Ability to design, develop, conduct, and assess effective programs.Knowledge of financial aid programs and federal regulations relating to student financial aid.State of Texas class "C" vehicle operator's license or ability to obtain within 30 days of employmentKnowledge, Skills, and Abilities :
