Dental Hygienist - Full Time - Sign-On Bonus + Great Benefits!The Dental Hygienist provides high-quality preventive and therapeutic dental care to American Indian/Alaska Native (AI/AN) children, youth, and families served by Denver Indian Health and Family Services, Inc. (DIHFS). Under the direction of the Director of Dentistry, this position focuses on promoting oral health through patient education, screenings, cleanings, and preventive treatments in a compassionate, culturally sensitive environment.

Duties:
Evaluate, assess, and diagnose patients' oral health conditions.Perform dental cleanings, scaling, and polishing to remove plaque and stains.Take and develop dental x-rays for diagnostic use.Collect and chart dental and medical histories; record dentist observations and treatment plans.Educate patients of all ages on proper oral hygiene and preventive dental care.Create impressions for dentures, bridges, and other prostheses.Sterilize instruments and maintain infection control standards.Provide chairside assistance during dental procedures as needed.
Qualifications:
Experience-Minimum of one (1) year of experience as a dental hygienist.-Experience using electronic health records (EHR) required.-Experience working in an integrated primary care, dental, and behavioral health environment preferred.Education, Licensure, and Certification-Graduation from an accredited dental hygiene school required.-Valid Colorado dental hygiene license.-Valid driver's license and proof of professional liability insurance required.-Current CPR/BLS certification.Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities-Strong compassion and commitment to serving diverse populations.-Excellent manual dexterity and fine motor skills.-Outstanding interpersonal skills with the ability to recognize and ease patient discomfort or anxiety.-High attention to detail and ability to identify potential oral health issues.-Physical stamina and comfort working on your feet for extended periods.IMPORTANT: Pre-Employment Requirements-Successful completion of background check and drug screening.-Proof of immunizations (first two COVID-19 doses, annual influenza vaccination, and other DIHFS-required immunizations).-Verification of required licenses/certifications.
