[job_card.job_description]Reviewing technical disclosures and participating in client interviews to understand new inventions; Reviewing and analyzing technical literature and patent documents to establish patentability of an invention; Reviewing and analyzing patent documents to establish freedom-to-operate for client products; Drafting written assessments of the prospects of obtaining patent protection; Drafting patent applications; Preparing responses to communications (“office actions”) from the United States Patent and Trademark Office and other patent offices; and Reviewing patents and other materials as part of IP due diligence for potential mergers and acquisitions. REQUIREMENTS
- Degree in electrical engineering, computer science, or a related field of study
- Desire and ability to quickly learn the fundamentals of a broad range of new technologies in technical discipline
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Interpersonal skills necessary to communicate effectively with business leaders, attorneys, scientists and engineers, and patent examiners
