Backend Engineer

  • Salary : $200K - $250K + Equity (0.1% - 0.5%)

Our client is a cutting-edge fintech startup revolutionizing the financial services industry by building the most sophisticated AI-powered financial analysis platform. Recently securing a $50M funding round backed by leading investors, they're on a mission to transform how investment professionals interact with complex financial data. With a tight-knit team of 14 talented professionals, they're creating the next generation of intelligent tools for financial analysis.

What You Will Do

  • Design and develop robust APIs, services, and application logic powering a sophisticated financial analysis platform
  • Build and maintain large-scale data engineering pipelines that ingest millions of earnings calls and SEC filings
  • Architect scalable backend systems handling mission-critical transactions
  • Work with Elasticsearch, data pipelines, and Airflow workflows
  • Collaborate with a talented team at the intersection of AI and applied finance
  • Create infrastructure that transforms complex financial data into intuitive tools for investment professionals

    • Ideal Candidate Background

  • 2+ years of engineering experience with a focus on backend development
  • Experience at high-growth startups with high talent bars (similar to companies like Stripe, Ramp, or Modal)
  • Strong technical foundation demonstrated through work history or impressive GitHub contributions
  • Experience architecting and building scalable backend systems
  • Proficiency in TypeScript and Python
  • Experience with search technologies, data pipelines, or distributed systems
  • Background as a technical founder or engineer at interesting startups is a plus

    • Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with financial data or fintech applications
  • Knowledge of cloud infrastructure and microservices architecture
  • Understanding of database sharding and optimization techniques
  • Experience with RDS or similar database technologies
  • Track record of shipping production-quality code in fast-paced environments

    • Compensation and Benefits

  • Competitive salary range : $200K - $250K (flexible based on experience)
