Transit Operators are responsible for the operation of County Connection vehicles to transport passengers safely over specified routes to local or distant points.
DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Operates vehicles within correct time frames and according to route schedules in accordance with traffic regulations and County Connection operating procedures.
- Develops and maintains extensive knowledge of service area, including schedules and routes on which vehicles operate.
- Inspects vehicle for all safety, comfort, and cleanliness items. Checks vehicle operating functions, performs brake test, checks, and adjusts signs and mirrors, and completes pre-operational inspection form.
- Assists passengers while boarding and exiting vehicles. Provides information to passengers concerning fares, schedules, and routes.
- Monitors fare box.
- Collects passes and transfers.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS :
Must have a valid California driver's license and a good driving record. A good driving record is one that :Has no more than two (2) points or moving violations.
Has no convictions for driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs.Has no warrants for failures to appear.Has no incident of negligent, careless, or reckless driving.Must be able to obtain a Class B Commercial Driver's permit, including the required endorsements.Must successfully complete the U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) physical examination.TO APPLY :
