Transit Operator

Transit Operators are responsible for the operation of County Connection vehicles to transport passengers safely over specified routes to local or distant points.

DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES :

• Operates vehicles within correct time frames and according to route schedules in accordance with traffic regulations and County Connection operating procedures.
• Develops and maintains extensive knowledge of service area, including schedules and routes on which vehicles operate.
• Inspects vehicle for all safety, comfort, and cleanliness items. Checks vehicle operating functions, performs brake test, checks, and adjusts signs and mirrors, and completes pre-operational inspection form.
• Assists passengers while boarding and exiting vehicles. Provides information to passengers concerning fares, schedules, and routes.
• Monitors fare box.
• Collects passes and transfers.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS :

Has no more than two (2) points or moving violations.
