Position Overview: Location: Near Jurupa Valley, CA Start Date: ASAP End Date: Ongoing Coverage Type: Scheduled Clinical Hours Plus Call EMR Systems: AllScripts (Sunrise) for Clinic, Cerner for Hospital Practice Details: Specialty: Complex General Surgical Oncology Practice Setting: Outpatient-focused, with no inpatient care required. Shifts and Coverage: Clinic Days: Tuesday through Friday, with Monday dedicated to operating room (OR) procedures. Patient Load: Manage a patient census of 8-14 patients per shift. Consults and Follow-ups: Time is split between new consultations and follow-ups, with appointments typically lasting 30 minutes to 1 hour. Holidays: Coverage is required for major holidays, including New Year's Day, 4th of July, Memorial Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day. Requirements: Board Certification: Must be board-certified in Complex General Surgical Oncology. Fellowship Training: Required in breast surgery or surgical oncology. Certifications: No additional certifications (ACLS, BLS, etc.) are required. Licensing: Must be licensed in California. Note that there is no reimbursement for licensing costs. Privileges: Hospital or surgery center privileges are required, with an estimated credentialing timeframe of 4 weeks. Temporary Privileges: Available to expedite your start date. Additional Details: No Inpatient Care: This position is strictly outpatient, with no inpatient rounding required. Hospital Support: Hospitalists will handle new patient admissions, allowing you to focus on surgical oncology cases.
