AtkinsRéalis seeks an experienced, motivated Bridge Structural Detailer to join our Transportation team. The ideal candidate will work from our Orlando, FL or Miami, FL office and many of our other Florida locations are open for consideration. This role reports to the office Technical Manager.

As a detailer you will work closely with the engineers to bring our designs from conception to reality. The team has a lot of exciting work so previous detailer experience is required. If you think you’d be a great fit, continue reading about this position.

How will you contribute to the team?

• Provide design, production and coordination of construction plans and drawings in support of bridge and transportation structure project(s).
• Provide conceptual and final design of bridges and other transportation structures, roadway alignments, and miscellaneous structures as required by the project scope.
• Reads and interprets survey data, government standards and codes, and applies to design.
• Performs calculations, utilizing knowledge of algebra, geometry and trigonometry as required.
• Develops and lays out conceptual designs for proposals to be reviewed by senior technical professional or project manager for conformance with specifications and client requirements.
• Develops and lays out final plan designs on assigned project or portions of projects.
• Develops sections of projects or details for construction projects.
• May prepare plans, specifications, cost estimates and permit applications.
• Maintains good knowledge of governmental regulations, codes and ordinances and applies them to plans, as needed.
• Performs such other duties as the supervisor may from time to time deem necessary.

What will you contribute?

• Associates Degree in Drafting, Engineering, Architecture, or equivalent technical discipline.
• 5+ years’ experience as a detailer (progressive drafting and design experience).
  Structures experience is a plus.
• MicroStation and Open Bridge experience required.
• Civil 3D, BIM and/or Revit is a plus.
• FDOT experience is a plus.
• Solid oral and written communications skills.
