Vanport Mechanical & Fire Sprinklers, Inc. is seeking an experienced Full-Charge Bookkeeper with a strong background in construction accounting to oversee and manage our full-cycle financial operations. This is a critical, hands-on role responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, job costing, payroll coordination, tax reporting, and monthly financial statements.
This position works directly with company ownership and leadership, playing a key role in supporting financial decision-making and long-term growth. Manage full-cycle accounting operations using QuickBooks Online
Oversee Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR)
Perform construction job costing and progress billing
Complete monthly bank and credit card reconciliations
Coordinate payroll processing with third-party payroll provider
Profit & Loss
Balance Sheet
Cash Flow Statements
Process and file Washington State Sales Tax and B&O Tax
Maintain accurate general ledger and supporting documentation
Support year-end close and coordinate with external CPA
Provide financial reports, analysis, and insights to ownership
Ensure compliance with GAAP and company financial controls
Minimum 5+ years of Full-Charge Bookkeeper experience
Advanced proficiency in QuickBooks Online
Experience with construction accounting and job costing
Strong knowledge of GAAP principles
Experience preparing and analyzing monthly financial statements
High level of accuracy and attention to detail
Strong organizational and time management skills
Ability to work independently in an on-site office setting
Professional communication skills
Experience in HVAC, mechanical, or fire protection contracting
Familiarity with construction progress billing and retainage
$60,000 – $70,000 annual salary (DOE)
PTO accrual: 1 hour per 40 hours worked (increases with tenure)
