Job Description: Thorough knowledge of SQL, Power Shell, Python scripting languages DB management tools like SSMS for SQL Server or MySQL Workbench for MySQL IaC Configuration Management Tools such asAnsible, Puppet, Chef, SaltStack DevOps CI/CD Pipelines integrated with version control systems Responsibilities: Database maintenance: Installs, configures, and upgrades the CRIMS database software, including applying patches and updates. Performance monitoring and tuning: Continuously monitors database activity, resource usage (CPU, memory, storage), and query performance. Identifies and resolves bottlenecks to ensure the system runs efficiently, which is critical for real-time trading and compliance checks. High availability: Plans and implements high-availability solutions like replication and failover to ensure the database is always accessible and minimizes downtime. Capacity planning: Anticipates future storage and performance needs based on growth trends and plans for the necessary resources to ensure the database can scale effectively. Data integrity and security Backup and recovery: Manages and tests backup procedures to safeguard against data loss and executes recovery processes in the event of a system failure or corruption. Data integrity: Implements data quality measures and procedures to ensure the consistency, accuracy, and reliability of data across all CRIMS databases. Security management: Implements and manages database security measures, such as access controls and user permissions, to protect sensitive financial data from unauthorized access.
