Engineering Operations Director

Location : Bethesda, MD, United States. Onsite role, Monday‑Friday with up to 10% U.S. domestic travel.

About the Role

As a CBRE Engineering Ops Director, you will lead the team responsible for running the performance of MEP (mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems) and maintaining continuity throughout the portfolio, providing overall quality control for all properties. The role covers approximately 4M sq ft of office space and critical environments / data centers and is part of the Engineering and Technical Services function.

What You’ll Do

• Oversee a business unit’s financial performance and approve annual operating budgets.
• Manage hiring of contractors and subcontractors, implement bidding procedures, and direct daily operation of facility controls and asset management systems.
• Provide formal supervision to employees, monitor training and development, conduct performance evaluations, mentor the team, and oversee recruiting and hiring of new employees.
• Coordinate and lead the team’s daily activities, establish work schedules, assign tasks, cross‑train staff, set and track staff and department deadlines.
• Lead by example, model CBRE RISE values, negotiate with external partners, vendors, and customers, and drive organizational performance.
• Identify and solve multi‑dimensional, complex operational and organizational problems using appropriate resources within or outside the department.
• Significantly improve and change existing methods, processes, and standards.

What You’ll Need

Compensation

Annual base salary approximately $180,000 plus target bonus of 20% with some potential flexibility based on experience.
