Special Education Teacher in Joliet, IL

A contract position is available for a Special Education Teacher working onsite at a school in Joliet, IL. This full-time role supports 3rd-5th grade students and offers a structured Monday through Friday schedule, from 7:50 am to 3:10 pm. The caseload typically includes 10-12 students, providing a focused environment to make a meaningful impact on learners with special needs.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver tailored special education instruction aligned with students Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).
• Collaborate with general education teachers, support staff, and families to foster student growth.
• Monitor and document student progress and adjust teaching strategies as needed.
• Participate in scheduled meetings and professional development opportunities to maintain best practices.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Masters or Doctoral degree in Special Education.
• Active Illinois teaching license in Special Education.
• Experience working with elementary students in grades 3-5 is preferred.
