Qualifications
- At least 10 years’ experience in general excavation, earth moving, and utilities infrastructure with strong experience in underground pipe / utilities.
- Prior supervisory experience
- Proficient in safety standards, reading site plans, operating equipment, and setting grade
- Must have good math, problem-solving, organizational and communication skills
- Strong work-ethic and solid integrity
- Current Driver License with good driving record
- Physical ability to lift 50+ pounds
Responsibilities
Job Operations :Ensure that all required supplies, materials, equipment, and subcontractors are ordered and available according to job schedule
Read and understand plans, specifications, soil reports, etc. related to each jobCoordinate inspections, blue stakes, permits, temporary utility needs, traffic plans, and equipment rentalMaintain professional relationships with all regulatory and vendor contactsCoordinate site preparation and mobilization when job starts, and plan and coordinate closure tasks when job endsRoutinely assess productivity, resources, and adjust plans to keep job on scheduleEffectively communicate with office on matters of compliance, employee relations, and client satisfactionOversee maintenance, care, and security of company equipment and property on jobsitesKeep accurate and timely documentationEmployee Supervision :Direct supervision of foremen, operators, and laborers
Interview, conduct try-outs, hire, discipline, and complete performance reviewsOversee staffing and schedulingProvide training related to job tasks, equipment operation, and job safetyEnsure safety standards are followedComplete and submit accurate and timely timecards with proper labor costsClient Relations :Communicate (verbal and written) with client, attend meetings as needed, keep job sites clean, and represent company in a professional manner
