Job Summary and Qualifications
1. Position Summary : The Sterile Processing Director provides leadership through planning, organizing, monitoring and evaluating the SPD department's service level to all areas of the hospital. Responsibilities include fiscal, Human Resource and operational functions. The SPD Director maintains 24-hour accountability for services provided by the department. The director performs delegated duties consistent with the scope of practice and functions within the philosophy and overall plan of care at HCA HealthONE Presbyterian St. Luke's and Rocky Mountain Children's and displays a positive support for the values and mission of the facility. The director is responsible for the overall quality of all functions of the sterile processing department including each surgical services area, including : quality of decontamination, quality and accuracy of re-setting of all instrument sets for all departments as well as all procedures trays / instrument sets used in the hospital. The SPD Director will provide customer service directly to physicians and interface with them to address quality issues with instrument sets.
