JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY

The Residential Business Manager is responsible for driving the residential sales strategy and executing strategic plans with clear goals, objectives, and KPIs for national home builder targets. This role will be integral in creating consistency and guidelines for our Independent Manufacturer’s Rep Agencies and supporting the Residential Sales team across the US. This role will report directly to the VP, Sales and collaborate heavily with the Sales Strategy team.

JOB DESCRIPTION DETAILS

  • Develops and implements marketing/sales and account strategies in accordance with corporate goals; implements plans for strategic accounts within specified region to exceed expectations in revenue retention/growth, account profitability, and customer satisfaction/loyalty.
  • Develops and implements sales/marketing forecasting/strategies and account initiatives in accordance with corporate goals; implements plans for strategic national home builders in order to exceed expectations in revenue retention/growth, account profitability, and customer satisfaction/loyalty.
  • Cultivates long-term relationships with key account decision makers; develops a complete understanding of the organization’s structure and key buying influences of assigned account.
  • Delivers professional sales presentations, utilizing product samples and PowerPoint slides, to various individuals, including but not limited to cross-functional teams, builders, distributors, code officials, educators, contractors, etc. to advance market growth and product knowledge/development.
  • Communicates with product management and cross-functional teams regarding product launches and product timelines; forecasts inventory accordingly; notifies wholesalers/contractors of any shortages, shipping and availability issues; ensures proper market execution regarding presence, integrity and deployment.
  • Works with cross-functional teams on new product strategies; attends committees for new product development and launches; performs market research; obtains customer feedback regarding new products; works with VP of Sales to determine pricing and market launch strategies.
  • Creates consistent and best practice approaches for Residential Sales Managers to best support independent rep agencies to improve sales performance. Provides training and development opportunities as needed.
  • Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending training sessions, webinars, educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; and participating in professional societies.
  • Initiates sales calls on individual accounts; travels with sales team members to make joint sales calls to key customers, distributors, and contractors.
  • Collaborates and problem solves with cross-functional teams on various subjects including but not limited to systems development and process improvement initiatives in order to ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Attends annual National Sales Meeting and other industry events/meetings.

Reporting

  • Maintains daily/weekly/monthly/quarterly/yearly sales reports, forecasts, and business metrics; identifies business opportunities; reports on trends with distributors and products, competitors, and new business initiatives.
  • Creates and reviews monthly reports to assist in targeting specific accounts, regions, and/or product categories.
  • Prepares various monthly reports on quarterly and annual goals and objectives, highlights and challenges, sales and expenses; submits to VP of Sales.

Travel

  • Will be required to travel 60% or more of the time

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Working knowledge of customers, trends, and associations in residential segment
  • Knowledge of computer programs such as Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel; SAP, SAC, Power BI, and Salesforce
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Solid organizational and analytical skills
  • Self-motivated, self-starter who has the ability to work well with others as well as work independently
  • Advanced relationship building and strategic selling skills
  • Ability to identify market dynamics and quickly define and implement competitive campaigns

Education, Certification/License & Work Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business preferred
  • Five+ years of experience in Sales Management, Strategy / Consulting, or Business Development with a proven track record executing sales strategy and developing tactical sales plans.
  • Two+ years of leadership experience in a relevant industry (, Construction, Construction Materials, Manufacturing) preferred.
  • Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered.

Total Rewards Package :

Compensation

  • Base: $73,;to $132,;annually, based on specific compensable factors including, but not limited to education, work experience, and geographic market.
  • Bonus: This role will be eligible for participation in a discretionary annual bonus program, pursuant to which an employee may be awarded a percentage of their salary based on the company’s performance and their own individual performance.
