Job Summary : The PIP Handler is responsible for the fair and accurate disposition of no fault coverage exposures by processing benefits, monitoring treatment, and handling external correspondence and inquires.

Responsibilities :

  • Identifies and appropriately notifies casualty claim adjuster of new potential BI and UM / UD claims as well as new injury contacts
  • Maintains compliance with company standards and M.G.L's in the investigation and handling of claims
  • Utilizes appropriate cost containment measures to mitigate exposures
  • Administers PIP and MP benefits in accordance with MGL Ch. 90, 34M and applicable case law
  • Coordinates benefits with health insurers in accordance with the policy, current regulation and established procedures
  • Pays submitted bills according to established procedures
  • Answers inquiries from insureds, claimants, attorneys, and others, and resolves issues concerning PIP and MP lines
  • Develops and maintains case files that document all actions
  • Provides excellent customer service
  • Performs other activities as required

    • Qualifications

  • 2-year college degree or insurance coursework / experience required
  • Superior organization skills and detail orientation required
  • Customer service experience desired
  • Excellent communication skills required
  • Computer skills required
