Visualization / Graphics Specialist

Overview

Tactica Solutions is seeking a Visualization / Graphics Specialist to support the U.S. Navy’s National Maritime Intelligence Center (NMIC) in Suitland, MD. This position will provide NMIC’s SWORD Tactica Reconstruction Branch with expertise in the development of 2D and 3D visualizations in support of analytic products. The successful candidate will possess the technical proficiency to create both static visualizations and dynamic player-based visualizations that accurately depict complex multi-domain threat Anti-Submarine Warfare (ASW) events.

Typical Job Duties and Tasks :

Visualization Development

Develop and deliver detailed 2D and 3D static visualizations to support analytical narratives of reconstructed ASW events.

Create dynamic, interactive player-based visualizations that allow users to step through reconstructed events chronologically, highlighting unit movements, sensor usage, and tactical actions across multiple domains (air, surface, subsurface).

Ensure all visualizations are tactically accurate, visually coherent, and aligned with the associated analytic narrative.

Apply consistent symbology, labeling, and annotation standards appropriate for Intelligence Community (IC) and Navy audiences.

Software Tool Utilization

Utilize government-approved / non-proprietary software compatible with existing analysis and presentation platforms.

Prepare exported visualizations in formats compatible with JWICS / ATLAS-based briefing and reporting environments.

Collaboration and Integration

Collaborate closely with all-source analysts to integrate visuals into reconstruction products and coordinate required revisions or updates.

Support briefing preparation and delivery by tailoring visualizations to meet the needs of specific audiences, including ONI leadership, Fleet commands, and IC partners.

Responsibilities

Requirements – Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Demonstrated experience (5+ years) in developing advanced 2D and 3D visualizations for military, intelligence, or operational analysis purposes.

High school diploma or GED equivalent.

Proficiency with visualization and modeling software such as Adobe Illustrator, Blender, CAD toolsets, Python, or equivalent tools used in defense or intelligence applications.

Familiarity with anti-submarine warfare operations and multi-domain naval operations, including basic understanding of platform movement, sensor employment, and unit tactics.

Experience producing static and player-based visualizations that clearly depict event sequences, geospatial relationships, and tactical decision-making.

Strong attention to detail, with an emphasis on analytic fidelity, labeling standards, and formatting requirements appropriate for Intelligence Community and Navy consumers.

Excellent collaboration and communication skills, with the ability to work closely with analysts to refine visual requirements and integrate graphics into briefing and reporting formats.

Required Security Clearance

Active TS / SCI clearance required prior to start.

Physical Requirements

Work may involve sitting or standing for extended periods of time. Position may require typing and reading from a computer screen. Must have sufficient mobility, including but not limited to bending, reaching, and kneeling to complete daily duties in a timely and efficient manner. May include lifting weight up to 25 pounds as necessary.

$90,000.00 – $105,000.00
