Description

American Traveler is seeking a licensed RN for a Med/Surg position at a Level 1 Trauma Center in Chicago, IL, requiring a minimum of 2 years of recent acute care experience and an active IL RN license.

Details

• Night shift position working 3x12-hour shifts, 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM
• Every other weekend (2 weekends per month) is required
• No block scheduling or special scheduling requests are permitted
• Charting is performed in Cerner
• This is a mandatory float facility — all clinicians are required to float to any Cook County facility as needed, up to 50 miles away, within scope of practice
• Local candidates are accepted and preferred; candidates must live within 75 miles of the facility

Requirements

• Active IL RN license currently in hand (no pending licensure accepted)
• Minimum 2 years of recent acute care Med/Surg experience required
• Required certifications: BLS and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)
• ACLS preferred
• Level 1 Trauma Center experience in an acute care setting

Additional Information

• Work environment is a Level 1 Trauma Center with a high-acuity patient population
• Floating may occur to a variety of units, including outside of primary area of competency; a team-based care model is used when floated outside of primary competency
• Float notifications may be received as little as 2 hours before a shift
• Scrubs may be any color and are not provided by the facility
• RTO is limited to a maximum of 5 days per contract, with no more than 2 consecutive days at a time; weekend RTO will not be approved
• No RTO will be approved on holidays or the day before or after a holiday
• Proof of COVID vaccination is required — no exceptions
