Medical Laboratory Technician

Pride Health is currently seeking candidates for Medical Lab Technician positions that will provide support for our client's healthcare systems in Portland, Indiana. Job Description :

Job Title : Medical Lab Technician

Location : Portland, Indiana

Schedule 40 hours / week

Shift : 4x10 Nights (10 hrs)

Contract Length : 13 Weeks

Pay Range for Traveler : $1,900.00- $1,984.00 Weekly DOE

Job Summary :

Medical Lab Technician performs routine and specialized laboratory tests to support the diagnosis, treatment, and monitoring of patient health. They operate and maintain laboratory equipment, ensure accuracy in test results, and follow established laboratory protocols and safety standards.

Job Responsibilities :

• Perform routine and complex laboratory tests in areas such as hematology, chemistry, microbiology, urinalysis, and blood banking.
• Prepare, analyze, and interpret specimens following standardized procedures.
• Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot laboratory instruments and analyzers.
• Verify test results and ensure accuracy before reporting to providers or entering into the EMR.
• Perform quality control checks, calibrations, and maintain documentation as required.
• Collect blood and other specimens using proper phlebotomy techniques (if required).
• Follow infection control, safety protocols, and laboratory regulatory guidelines (CLIA, CAP, OSHA).
• Maintain inventory of lab supplies and ensure proper storage of reagents and specimens.
• Communicate abnormal test results promptly to the appropriate clinical team.
• Assist with training of new staff or students as needed.
• Ensure timely processing of stat, routine, and priority tests.
