Job Title: Collections Representative
Job Overview:
Contemporary Staffing Solutions is seeking a Collections Representative to join our client and support a fast-paced mortgage servicing call center. In this role, you will guide borrowers through payment, escrow, and general account questions while maintaining compliance within a regulated environment. The ideal candidate excels at navigating difficult conversations, managing multiple systems at once, and meeting defined performance targets. This remote, contract-to-hire opportunity offers hands-on experience within the financial services industry and consistent, structured workflows.
Compensation:
$16.00/hour
Work Schedule:
• 12:00 PM - 4:00 PM EST
• 1:00 PM - 5:00 PM EST Key Responsibilities of the Collections Representative:
• Guide borrowers through escrow, PMI, payments, and general loan maintenance questions with calm, professional communication.
• Manage high-volume inbound calls while multitasking across digital tools, reference materials, and documentation systems.
• Apply policy requirements and regulatory standards consistently, even when requests cannot be accommodated.
• Support de-escalation and resolution during challenging customer interactions while meeting call center KPIs.
• Maintain strong organization and focus in a remote environment to ensure accurate and timely information handling. Qualifications and Skills for the Collections Representative:
• Background in mortgage servicing, collections, or financial services is strongly preferred.
• Proven ability to multitask across multiple systems and follow structured workflows in a virtual call environment.
• Strong verbal communication skills and the ability to defuse escalated conversations professionally.
• Comfortable working under defined performance metrics in a highly regulated environment.
• Reliable remote work setup with minimum internet speed of 25 Mbps (100/25 preferred). Why Join Us?
