DescriptionThe Nursing Clinical Educator role supports undergraduate/prelicensure student learning experiences focused on mastery of competencies for clinical nursing practice. Under the supervision of designated faculty in the UAB School of Nursing, the Clinical Educators will plan and implement learning experiences, and provide instruction, coaching, and evaluation of student achievement of competencies in both student clinical practicums and clinical skills and simulation laboratory experiences. This individual will collaborate with program faculty and skills/simulation lab staff in development and implementation of planned clinical learning experiences for both the clinical setting and the clinical skills labs. Duties include supervision of students in clinical practicum experiences, teaching in planned clinical skills/simulation lab sessions, validation of student mastery of required skills, and the preparation and set-up for clinical lab experiences. This is not a remote position. RESPONSIBILITIES:
QualificationsBachelor's degree in Nursing and one (1) year of clinical work experience in adult medical/surgical nursing required. Work experience may NOT substitute for education requirement. Registered Nurse (RN).Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Superb organizational skills. Proficient computer skills. Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritizes in a complex environment. Detail oriented. Self-motivated and works independently. Communicates professionally and effectively with staff, faculty, students and clinical sites.
