Hospice Registered Nurse (RN) — Weekend Triage (Kansas City Metro)

Position : Hospice RN — Weekend Triage

Schedule : Saturday & Sunday, 8 : 30 AM–4 : 30 PM

Location : Kansas City Metro (triage support for patients / families)

Pay : Hourly (competitive; based on experience)

Position Overview

We’re seeking a compassionate, confident Hospice Registered Nurse (RN) to serve as a Weekend Triage Nurse supporting hospice patients and families across the Kansas City Metro . This role is ideal for an RN who stays calm under pressure, communicates clearly, and can guide patients and caregivers through symptom concerns with professionalism and empathy.

What You’ll Do

Provide hospice triage nursing support during weekend hours
Assess symptoms and concerns, provide nursing guidance, and determine next steps (visit need, escalation, physician notification, etc.)
Collaborate with the hospice interdisciplinary team to ensure continuity of care
Support patients and families with education, reassurance, and end-of-life symptom management guidance
Document triage assessments, interventions, and outcomes accurately and timely

Requirements :

Active RN license in BOTH Kansas (KS) and Missouri (MO) (dual-state licensure required)

Strong clinical judgment, phone / triage assessment skills, and comfort working autonomously

Excellent communication, empathy, and ability to de-escalate stressful situations

Reliable and organized with thorough documentation habits

Preferred (Not Required)

Hospice experience (highly valued)
