Job Description / Summary :

WTOC has an excellent career opportunity for a full-time Broadcast Engineer in our Technology Department. Our team is responsible for supporting all technical and physical aspects of our broadcast facilities. The engineer interacts with all station staff daily to address operational needs and challenges; they must work and communicate well with both technical and non-technical staff. Duties include troubleshooting maintaining and installing broadcast RF AV and IT systems and software. This is a hands-on job; applicants will use tools and test equipment to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented takes pride in their work and is able to quickly implement creative solutions in sometimes high-stress situations.

Duties / Responsibilities include but are not limited to :

• Performs regular maintenance of broadcast and IT support systems
• Support engineering aspects for studio production post-production and remote field-production events and programs
• Maintain advanced knowledge of current broadcast equipment technology and software
• Ensures all equipment is operating correctly before and during live event telecasts - corrects and documents technical problems
• Cross-trains other members of the technical staff and improves / updates facility documentation
