Nurse Assistant Apprentice
Under the direction and supervision of the responsible Registered Nurse (RN) and / or licensed clinician, performs specific patient care duties to meet safety and comfort needs of the patient. Provides input to assist the RN and / or licensed clinician in planning and implementing patient care. Responds to emergent situations according to established procedures. Recognizes and participates in own continuing education. The Nurse Assistant Apprentice follows the Henry Ford Health System Team Member Standards of Excellence in all interactions.
Our 48-bed Medical Surgical Unit cares for patients through many different phases of their healthcare journey. You'll work alongside a skilled and compassionate team supporting patients with a wide range of needs from post-surgical recovery to treatment for acute infectious diseases requiring IV antibiotics, to management of chronic conditions during flare-ups. We also provide dignified, compassionate care for patients and families during end-of-life support.

To qualify, you'll need a high school diploma or equivalent and one of the following :
Complete BLS Heart Saver Certification during orientation.
Physical ability to lift and move patients, supplies, and equipment. Prolonged standing, walking, and lifting of patients, supplies, and equipment. Works in patient care area environments, which may include exposure to communicable diseases, unpleasant odors, acute patient conditions, potential exposure to infection, and hazardous gases.
