Job Description Summary The purpose of this job is to document and produce informational, educational, promotional, and multimedia projects for the city of Columbia.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities - The intent of this job description is to provide a representative summary of the major duties and responsibilities performed by employees in this job. Employees may be requested to perform job-related tasks other than those specifically presented in this description
- Writes, produces, shoots, and edits video stories to promote city programs, activities, and events.
- Develops relationships with city employees and individuals within the community to develop story ideas and update production calendar.
- Utilizes video production skills including directing, producing, script writing, editing, recording, or multi-camera livestreaming public meetings.
- Regular attendance is a necessary and essential function.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience - An equivalent combination of education, training and experience will be consideredEducation and Experience- Bachelor's Degree in Film Production, Journalism, or related field.
- 3 to 5 years' experience in video editing or related field.
Licenses or CertificationsKnowledge, Skills and Abilities which may be representative, but not all-inclusive of those commonly associated with this positionKnowledge of:- Adobe Premiere software.

- This position involves occasional exposure to unpleasant environmental conditions and/or hazards and outside work.

- Incumbent required to grasp, push, drive, reach with hands/arms, stoop/crouch, and climb/balance.
- Incumbent must have clarity of vision and three-dimensional vision to expertly shoot video.
Hours/Days General hours: Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Evenings and weekends as needed for public meetings and special events.
Starting Salary $20.95/hr (minimum) to $25.77/hr (midpoint); commensurate with Training and Experience
