This is a part-time flexible Hybrid / Remote position designed to accommodate students in good standing with their university. The ideal candidate will be a rising senior or a master's degree student pursuing a degree in Software Development, computer science, or any related field. Seniors pursuing bachelor's degree will be considered. A professor recommendation is required. This position requires a U.S. Security Clearance. Only U.S. citizens eligible for U.S. Security Clearance should apply.

POSITION OVERVIEW :

This position requires the performance of tasks related to research, development, deployment, and enhancement of enterprise-wide software solutions using techniques such as hands-on coding, debugging, contributing to software architecture and design, etc. on behalf of the government customer and Small Business Consulting Company (SBCC).

Essential functions

  • Collaborate on software development projects supporting operational systems and analytics platforms.
  • Write, test, and maintain code using modern programming languages and frameworks.
  • Participate in the design and implementation of databases and APIs.
  • Assist in troubleshooting, debugging, and optimizing software applications.
  • Contribute to documentation, reporting, and presentations for stakeholders.
  • Work independently and as part of a team to solve technical challenges.
  • Learn and apply new technologies and development practices.
  • Occasionally provide administrative support related to project documentation and coordination.

    • Work environment

  • Hybrid / Remote with occasional on-site duties at Barksdale AFB LA or Tech Pointe location in Ruston LA.
  • Home office environment during scheduled remote work hours.
  • Collaborative space environment during on-site work hours.
  • Occasional travel to meet with clients or attend conferences.

    • Travel required

  • Occasional travel to meet with USG clients or attend conferences.
  • Day travel to Tech Pointe or Barksdale AFB.

    • Required education and experience

  • Pursuing master's degree in computer science, software development, or field directly related to the position. The degree must be in a major field of study (at least at the baccalaureate level) that is appropriate for the position. OR
  • Rising Senior pursuing bachelor's degree in computer science, software development, or field directly related to the position. The degree must be in a major field of study (at least at the baccalaureate level) that is appropriate for the position.

    • Preferred education and experience

  • Proficiency in Python, SQL, JavaScript, and TypeScript
  • Pursing master's degree : Computer science, software development, or field directly related to the position.
  • Pursuing bachelor's degree (entering Senior year) : computer science, software development, or field directly related to the position. The degree must be in a major field of study (at least at the baccalaureate level) that is appropriate for the position.

    • Work authorization / security clearance requirements

  • United States Citizen.
  • Ability to obtain secret clearance.
  • Thorough credit and criminal history checks will be conducted on all applicants.
