Operations Research Assistant
ProSidian seeks an Operations Research Assistant (Contract Contingent) in Charlotte, NC / Washington, DC / Remote to support an engagement for an agency of the United States government responsible for consumer protection in the financial sector.
The ProSidian Engagement Team Members work to understand and improve consumer financial decision-making skills by researching consumer financial behavior, knowledge, attitudes, perceptions, and experiences, developing innovative approaches to help consumers make better-informed financial decisions, and analyze and study the effectiveness of financial education approaches.
The Operations Research Assistant will assist the Operations Research Analyst with in-depth research of consumer financial behavior and financial education using focus groups, surveys, and interviews and compile that research into comprehensive reports to be delivered to other members of the Research Team.
The Operations Research Assistant is responsible for providing support with conducting in-depth research using statistical analysis, models, tables, and other methods to better understand consumer financial decision-making and ways consumers make those decisions. Responsibilities also include supporting field tests of newly-developed tools and strategies to better educate consumers, assisting the Operations Research Analyst and other members of the Research Team with monitoring and developing new tools, strategies, and messages to educate consumers, and providing analysis of the overall project to support the Research Team's report(s).
Qualifications
The Operations Research Assistant shall have consecutive employment in a position with comparable responsibilities within the past one (1) year. Must be able to use a computer to communicate via email; and proficient in Microsoft Office Products (Word/Excel/Power point) and related tools and technology required for the position. Work products shall be thorough, accurate, appropriately documented, and comply with established criteria. The candidate shall ensure that duties are performed in a competent and professional manner that meets milestones/delivery schedules as outlined.
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty and responsibility satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and/or abilities required: Bachelor's degree or equivalent from an accredited college or university in a relevant field with at least 1 year of experience with demonstrated understanding of conducting applied social science or educational research, survey research, analysis, and sampling.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent required.
- At least 1 year of experience providing support for survey research, sampling, statistical analysis, and other related subjects.
- Experience in data collection, analysis, and written reports summarizing data collected.
- Ability to coordinate multiple projects simultaneously, work well under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Ability to work effectively both individually and as a member of a team.
- Candidate must have strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Demonstrated ability to propose possible resolutions to complex managerial or operational problems.
- Demonstrated expertise in knowledge management.
- Demonstrated proactivity, attention to detail, working within deadlines, and ability to juggle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, English verbal, written, editing, research, and verbal communication skills.

- Proficiency in MS Office Applications (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Excel)

TRAVEL: Travel as coordinated with the technical point of contact and approved in writing by the Contracting Officer in advance, is allowed, in accordance with Federal Travel Regulations.
