Job Summary

B&A is looking for a System Administrator to join a contract with a federal government client in support of an important mission. The Systems Administrator provides operational and technical support for enterprise IT systems and network environments, ensuring availability, performance, and security of server, client, and cloud-based resources. This role supports network infrastructure, system administration, and security best practices while maintaining compliance with organizational policies and applicable cybersecurity standards.

This role requires on-site work.

Responsibilities

• Administer and maintain server and client operating systems in enterprise environments
• Monitor system and network performance and implement tuning and optimization measures
• Support LAN / WAN infrastructure, network connectivity, and remote access services
• Configure and maintain network services such as DNS, DHCP, and directory services
• Implement and maintain virtualization platforms and manage virtual machines
• Apply system, network, and operating system hardening techniques
• Support security controls including firewalls, VPNs, and access control mechanisms
• Perform routine system maintenance, backups, and recovery activities
• Diagnose and resolve system, network, and performance issues using standard tools
• Support cloud-based systems and assist with workload migrations as required
• Ensure compliance with data protection standards and organizational security policies
