Quality Assurance Technician (Food Manufacturing)

Position Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented Quality Assurance Technician to join our production team on the evening shift. This contract-to-hire opportunity offers the chance to play a critical role in ensuring product quality and safety compliance in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Schedule & Compensation

  • Shift : Evening (2 : 00 PM - 10 : 30 PM) with overtime opportunities
  • Employment Type : Contract-to-hire (6-month contract period)
  • Compensation : $18-21 / hour depending on experience
  • Start Date : Immediate opening available

Primary Responsibilities

Daily Quality Operations

  • Conduct pre-operational inspections and equipment swabbing procedures.
  • Execute comprehensive allergen control inspections throughout production areas.
  • Monitor and evaluate raw materials, in-process samples, and finished products against quality standards.
  • Place non-conforming products on hold and initiate appropriate corrective actions.
  • Lead investigations into quality complaints and deviations.

    • Documentation & Compliance

  • Complete accurate batch documentation and quality records.
  • Maintain compliance with food safety regulations and company quality standards.
  • Follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and protocols consistently.
  • Support regulatory audit readiness through proper record-keeping.

    • Required Qualifications

    Experience & Knowledge

  • 3-12 months of quality assurance experience in food manufacturing settings (recent food science graduates will be considered).
  • Demonstrated knowledge of GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices).
  • Working understanding of HACCP (Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points) principles.
  • Practical food safety expertise.

    • Skills & Competencies

  • Exceptional attention to detail and observational skills.
  • Basic computer proficiency for documentation and record management.
  • Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Ability to work independently while maintaining quality standards.

    • Education

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
