Customs Entry Writer

This position is for local residents only.

• Prepare Custom s documentation and ensure that shipments meet all applicable laws to facilitate the import of goods.
  
• Determine and track duties and taxes payable.
  
• Process payments on behalf of clients.
  
• Prepare and process import documentation according to Customs regulations, laws, or procedures.
  
• Process Customs Entry by completing the appropriate mandated procedures to clear goods through U.S. Customs and designated OGA s to obtain release of client s product.
  
• Calculate duty and tariff payments owed on shipments.
  
• Pay, or arrange for payment of taxes and duties on shipments.
  
• Request or compile necessary import documentation, such as Customs Invoices, Certificates of Origin and cargo-control documents.
  
• Post bonds (SEB / Continuous) for the products being imported or assist clients in obtaining bonds
  
• Help classify goods according to tariff coding system and assist customers in obtaining accurate US HTS codes.
  
• Apply for tariff concessions and or entry cancelations
  
• Knowledge of HTS and steel/reciprocal tariffs
  
• Customer invoicing for Brokerage related activities.
  
• Maintain customer records and filing.
