Senior Software Engineer, Seller Services

Who You Are

As a Senior Software Engineer, you will be a driver for many of our projects here at TCGplayer. You will interface with technical teams, lead some projects, and mentor more junior engineers. You will be integral to upgrades for our website, including AWS migrations, microservice implementations, and choosing queueing methodologies. You will help design solutions for our sellers and our buyers, and create platforms for monitoring, managing and easing throughput of our services to ensure sales go through fast, fees are processed appropriately, and data integrity is maintained across all platforms.

The Impact You Will Make Here

• Lead or significantly contribute to medium-to-large feature releases—usually multi-person projects that cross engineering team boundaries
• Develop thorough technical requirements based on business needs
• Design, plan, and lead technical projects from inception through to deployment and after
• Develop high-quality code based on detailed designs that meet requirements
• Create comprehensive documentation, conducting thorough testing and following defined change control processes
• Provide support for a mission-critical application
• Demonstrate a high level of initiative and attention to detail during daily operations
• Implement and maintain internal, private and public web services
• Be a clear expert in one or more technical areas
• Inspire peers with high-quality, impactful technical contributions
• Participate in the design review process, and seeking and providing constructive criticism
• Demonstrate ability to succeed in a wide range of complex situations across multiple axes, e.g. scale, uncertainty, interconnectedness

What You Bring to the Team

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology or a related field, or a combination of education and experience
• 8+ years of ASP.NET, C#, .Net MVC Razor, Entity Framework and .Net Core experience
• Technical expertise in New Relic, Data Dog or Scalyr
• Mastery of Visual Studio
• Technical expertise in GitHub, Jenkins or Octopus
• Hands-on development experience in one or more back-end object-oriented programming languages (preferably C#)
• Fluency in SonarQube
• Expert SQL programming skills
• Basic competency with NoSQL programs like Redis, DynamoDB and MongoDB
• Fluency with Unit Test (MS Test)
• In-depth knowledge of Microsoft development tools including Visual Studio 2022 Professional and GIT
• Exemplary verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to work independently within a geographically dispersed agile team

Compensation

The pay range for this position at commencement of employment is expected in the range below.

$ 130,000-$175,000

Base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including location, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a target bonus and restricted stock units (as applicable) in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as PTO and parental leave). Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.

If hired, employees will be in an “at-will position” and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
