Civil Engineer

Job Title: Civil Engineer – Residential Land Development

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Civil Engineer to lead the preparation of construction drawings for single-family residential developments. In this role, you will supervise a design team, ensure high-quality deliverables, and utilize AutoCAD Civil 3D to produce accurate and efficient designs.

Responsibilities

• Manage and oversee the development of construction drawings for residential projects.
• Lead and guide the design team in creating plans for paving, grading, storm drainage, detention, water, and wastewater systems, under the direction of the Project Manager.
• Generate and refine 3D surfaces using survey data and project specifications.
• Develop surfaces from alignments and profiles to ensure precision in design.
• Maintain organized design files for smooth collaboration across the project team.
• Coordinate with internal teams and municipal staff to facilitate reviews and secure permits.
• Ensure compliance with local codes, regulations, and industry standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 3 years of civil design experience, including:
  • Private single-family residential developments in the DFW area.
  • Construction plan production using AutoCAD Civil 3D.
• Licensed E.I.T in Texas, or ability to obtain licensure within one year.
• Strong organizational and communication skills with attention to detail.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with subdivision design, grading, drainage, and land development.
• Familiarity with local permitting processes and municipal coordination.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines effectively.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Dallas, TX.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $50.00/hr.
