Staff Accountant

Job Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Staff Accountant to manage and oversee all Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), and general accounting responsibilities. This role plays a critical part in maintaining accurate financial records, ensuring timely payments and collections, and supporting month-end close activities. The ideal candidate is organized, analytical, and has a strong understanding of accounting principles and processes.

Key Responsibilities

Accounts Payable (AP):

• Process vendor invoices accurately and timely


• Match purchase orders, receipts, and invoices


• Maintain vendor records and respond to inquiries


• Manage payment runs (check, ACH, wire)


• Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies

Accounts Receivable (AR):

• Generate and send customer invoices


• Apply payments and monitor aging reports


• Follow up on past-due accounts and resolve payment issues


• Work closely with Sales or Customer Service teams to resolve billing disputes

General Accounting:

• Assist in month-end and year-end close processes


• Prepare journal entries and account reconciliations


• Maintain the general ledger and supporting schedules


• Assist with audits and provide documentation as needed


• Support budgeting and forecasting efforts


• Ensure compliance with GAAP and company policies

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or related field


• 2–4 years of accounting experience, preferably in a similar role


• Strong understanding of AP/AR processes and general accounting


• Proficient in accounting software (RealPage) and Microsoft Excel


• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills


• Ability to meet deadlines and work independently or in a team


• Strong communication and problem-solving skills
